Radioactive contamination can be generated by a wide range of activities in hospitals, laboratories, nuclear power plants and mineral processing facilities. CC Fix is water-based, non-hazardous, non-toxic fixative used as a final step approach to permanently stabilize radiological, beryllium, asbestos, and other hazardous contamination on surfaces. It is a fixative used as a second and final step approach to fix contamination on surfaces. Application of CC Fix prevents the re-suspension of contamination and airborne pollution issues from happening.
When CC Fix is sprayed over CC Wet the dust and debris is re-hydrated and absorbed into the matrix of the fixative. The result of this process is a hard coating that ensures permanent stabilization of the contamination. Application of CC Fix over CC Wet prevents the re-suspension of contamination and prevents airborne pollution issues from happening.
Gloveboxes, tanks, ducts, areas behind and under equipment, floors, walls, ceilings, overhead pipes are examples of typical in contaminated facilities. The application of this two-step solution aids in controlling contamination on surfaces found in contaminated facilities. CC Fix is being used to remediate highly contaminated plutonium and uranium surfaces at DoE controlled sites. The use of CC Fix has allowed uranium and plutonium processing equipment to be transported outside the buildings without being placed in shipping containers. CC Fix and CC Wet formulations are sold as ready-to-use products.
We can offer CC Fix and CC Wet, application equipment and training to contractors involved in demolition and remediation of contaminated facilities.
