EMC Directive

EMC Directive

 EMC Directive 2004/108/EC (EMC components)
EMI/EMC/EMP/(N)EMP and Tempest shielding, the EMC Directive 2004/108/EC, came into effect in July 2007. In addition to our other advisory capacities, we can also contribute an important step in the process for you to meet the demands of this very complex Directive. We can perform pre-compliant EMC immunity and emission measurements (EMC testing and EMC investigations) before you initiate a full EMC compliance measurement that is required for you to carry the CE marking on your product.
What is EMC?
EMC stands for electromagnetic compatibility. The definition of EMC is how well equipment works in relation to its electromagnetic environment. In other words, what influence does it exert on other equipment, and how is the equipment affected by other equipment? The scope of EMC can be roughly divided into two areas:
  • Immunity: the extent to which a device is resistant to electromagnetic radiation from outside sources and
  • Emission: the extent to which a device emits electromagnetic radiation.
